UIL Realignment Reunites Seagoville Dragons With SOC & Kimball

AUSTIN – The Seagoville Dragons varsity football team will reunite with a pair of Dallas ISD nemesis for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons as the University Interscholastic League announced new Texas high school athletic districts and classifications on Thursday morning as part of its biennial realignment.

The Dragons will remain in Conference 5A Division 2 and reside in District 6-5A which features South Oak Cliff and Kimball. The Bears knocked off the Dragons 33-6 in last year’s bi-district playoffs. Other schools in the new district includes Adamson, Conrad, Red Oak, Spruce and Thomas Jefferson.

SOC (9-3) will be the favorites to claim the district title with Spruce (9-3), Seagoville (6-5) and Kimball (4-8) vying for the two remaining playoff spots. Adamson (5-5), Conrad (1-9), Red Oak (2-8) and Thomas Jefferson (1-9) will be fighting to stay out of the cellar.

The Dragons basketball squads will compete in District 12-5A with Adamson, Kimball, Samuell, South Oak Cliff, Spruce and Sunset.
