Seagoville Lady Dragons Softball Meets Granbury In Area Playoffs

The Seagoville Lady Dragons softball team will meet the Granbury Lady Pirates on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Game 1 of a best-of-three series in the area round of the UIL softball playoffs.

Game 2 is slated for Friday at 5 p.m., and Game 3 — if necessary — will be played on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. All games will be played at Kennedale High School.

Seagoville, which was District 12-5A co-champions with Molina, defeated Thomas Jefferson 13-1 in bi-district playoff action. Granbury blanked Red Oak, 2-0, to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

The winner of the Seagoville-Granbury clash will battle the winner of the Mansfield Legacy-Sunset matchup in the Region 2 Quarterfinals.

The Lady Dragons are led by Coach Kylie Sumners and team members includes Emily Lopez, Jill Bruce, Aaliyah Phillips, Gennifer Henderson, Alex Saucedo, Johanna Gonzalez, Melanee Armstrong, Mercedez Shiplett, Kelli Timmons, Galilea Garcia, Amira Atwood and Elea Evans.
