Seagoville Dragons drop 29-26 decision to Granbury Tigers

GRANBURY – The Seagoville Dragons dropped a 29-26 nailbiter on the road last Friday night in a non-district matchup against the Granbury Tigers.

The Dragons (1-1) outgained the home team by a margin of 400 to 338 in a seesaw affair that featured a bevy of big plays by both squads.

Rio Hernandez scampered 30 yards for a score and tossed a pair (88-yard and 54-yard) of touchdown strikes to speedy wideout Jeremiah Boswell. The senior quarterback finished with 254 yards passing and Seagoville converted six of 13 third down conversions in the narrow loss.

The Tigers (1-1) were led by quarterback Kyle Gibson, who ran for two touchdowns and passed for another two scores. Zachary McCreight hauled in six catches for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Zach Watson tallied 155 yards on 22 carries.

Seagoville will host the Samuell Spartans (1-1) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night at James Ray Henry Memorial Stadium.
